What is Constant Time Access
Constant-time access, also known as O(1) time complexity, means that the time it takes to perform an
operation (in this case, accessing an element) does not depend on the size of the data structure. The operation
takes
roughly the same amount of time regardless of the number of elements in the data structure.
In other words, constant-time access is when the time required to access an element remains constant as the data
structure grows or shrinks in size. This is an important property for efficient data structures, as it allows for quick
access to elements without having to traverse the entire data structure.
For example, in an array, you can access any element directly using its index. This operation takes the same amount of
time, no matter how large the array is. Therefore, accessing an element in an array is considered a constant-time
operation.
